Self Magazine has published that there are three vegetables with the least nutritional value. And these are the ones that are often by figure conscious individuals as part of their diet regimen. These are
1. Celery. The magazine says that 8 inches of celery is worth only about 6 calories but it can only provide 1.6% of the daily requirements of Calcium and Vitamin C. But the good thing is, it is a good source of giver and Vitamin K.
2. Cucumber. Cucumber is low in calorie but high in fiber and water. One cup will fill you up, but you only ate less than 20 calories. It does contain about 5 percent of the daily nutritional requirement for potassium, manganese, magnesium and vitamin C. Well, it is still great with salads and sandwiches.
3. Iceberg Lettuce. This is like the cucumber and celery. This is also popular but does not have a lot of nutrients. The more nutritious choice would be the Romaine lettuce.
But whatever they are, we should increase out intake of vegetables for their fiber and water content. We should never decrease our intake, whether of any of these veggies plus fruits. They are still so much better than the junk food that we use to fill our bodies.
